BACKGROUND HISTORY: Feb. 3 is the anniversary of the 1943 sinking of the United States Army Transport Dorchester in the waters of Greenland, and the selfless acts of Lt. George L. Fox, a Methodist minister from Pennsylvania; Lt. Alexander D. Goode, a Reform rabbi
from New York; Lt. John P. Washington, a Roman Catholic priest from New Jersey; and Lt. Clark V. Poling, a Reformed Church in America minister from Ohio. They gave up their lives for soldiers during as the Dorchester sank. For more information click here
