SUMMARY:Post 201 Labor Day Celebration
DESCRIPTION:Post 201 members\, family\, and guests are invited to the Labor Day Celebration. This year the celebration is focused on the members and family.  Bob Byrd has purchased a 100-lb whole hog which will be barbecued by Ralph Files and his cooking team.  Club room opens at 1:00 p.m.  Food will be available from 3:00 p.m.  Members and family are asked to bring a dish to share and a signup is available in the Clubroom.  Special drinks have been identified by DiAna Casale\, Bar Manager\, The Rum Mule\, Bourbon Spritz\, and Vodka Lemonade using well brand liquor is available for $3. Food is free and if you bring a guest\, please have them sign our Guest Book!

DESCRIPTION:Armed Forces Day – America pays homage to service members in all six branches of the U.S military on National Armed Forces Day. Armed Forces Day was established in 1949 and falls on the third Saturday in May. \nEvery drink of any variety sold at the at the Clubroom/Bar and purchased by a veteran for his or her consumption (or active duty member) on this day will be reduced by $1 off the regular price. Veterans need to be prepared to verify they are veterans (if asked by the bartender) and the same procedure will be in place for members of the Armed Forces on active duty. A military ID card will be acceptable for those on active duty.

George L. Fox\, a Methodist minister from Pennsylvania; Lt. Alexander D. Goode\, a Reform rabbi\nfrom New York; Lt. John P. Washington\, a Roman Catholic priest from New Jersey; and Lt. Clark V. Poling\, a Reformed Church in America minister from Ohio. They gave up their lives for soldiers during as the Dorchester sank. For more information click here

DESCRIPTION:U.S. Navy Birthday – Sunday\, Oct. 13. On Oct. 13\, 1775\, the Continental Congress established a naval force\, hoping that a small fleet of privateers could attack British commerce and offset British sea power. \nTo honor the Navy’s birthday\, the price of any rum-based drink served at the bar will reduced by $1 for any veteran from any branch of service. In the U.S. Navy the daily rum ration was one-half U.S. pint of distilled spirits until 1842\, when it was reduced to one gill (1/4th of a U.S. pint). The ration was abolished in 1862.
